Blaxton Computing is the web site of Matthew P. Chapman who began creating web sites and software in 2000 as a hobby and which has grown into a much more serious concern over the years.
History
It all began with the development of a motoring expenses software for Oregon Scientific´s Osaris which could have software written for it using a version of OPL which could also be used to develop software for Psion Organisers. the Osaris screen was smaller than the Psion Organiser so although software written for the Psion would run on it, the display was often cut off at the sides. This resulted in the the creation of the motoring expenses software both for Psion and Osaris.
The software was found to be very useful and it was decided to try and sell it using the internet as the sales medium and because Blaxton Computing strongly belives that software should be available for evaluation before sale the motring expenses software was distributed as shareware. The software was moderately successful and it certainly whet the appetite for web design and software development.
Present Day
The current plan is for Blaxton Computing to carry on in it´s current form developing software and web sites on demand and shareware as a side line. This ensures continued enjoyment of the development process and improvement of programming skills which prevents skills going stale.
